Collage on Birch Panel - "And I Think to Myself"
"And I think to myself ..."
That's the inspiration behind another of these whimsical collage pieces on cradled wood panels. I hope you can recall the next line .... what a wonderful world.
This one measures: 6 X 6 X 1-1/2" making it a nice "chunky" piece of art.
Each of the houses on this piece are cut out individually, and this time they are sewn onto this colorful floral background making the stitch lines an integral part of this mixed media piece. Once the houses are stitched on I add more color with paint and stamping. Once everything is in place I coat the piece with 5-6 coats of gel medium (like a varnish) adding a nice finish to the overall piece.
